I grew up loving art. Living among the beautiful landscapes of Alberta fed my passion for creating. Someone gifted me with a small box of oil paints one day, and I began to teach myself how to paint. I practiced every chance I got, perfecting my skills in the process. Painting connects me to a deeper level of myself, as well as to the subjects I create on canvas. Landscapes remains my favourite subject to paint, but I enjoy any subject that challenges me creatively. I’m very happy to share some of my creative works with you on this website. I’m also a commissioned artist; so feel free to contact me to create your very own personal original ‘masterpiece’.
So if you don’t know already, Facebook Page Video Covers are now available giving users the option to use videos in place of their cover photos. That’s pretty exciting stuff!
Facebook Video Covers
Being an avid ‘videographer’ myself and Admin of several Facebook pages, I couldn’t wait to get in the swing of things and try my hands at creating a branding video for my art page. Initially, I wanted to produce a video from scratch, however, Google research got the best of me when I came across a really cool website that allowed me to use video creating tools to–at least in part–create my own Facebook Page Video Covers. Several hours later (my OCD got the better of my aaand…well, you know…), voila!

I also came across this article by Ana Gotter, which I found informative and helpful in helping me determine how to develop my very first Facebook video cover. I am truly stoked about the results. Let me know what you think or if I can build any Facebook Page Video Covers for your brand. Stay tuned for some exciting stuff to come!
I can’t help but reminisce about the painted tulip windows of my grandparents old house. I used to stare at them when I was a child in the Blue Mountain hills of Jamaica. A recent opportunity seems to have triggered those memories for me…Mirror Art.
For most of my life as an artist, I painted using the medium of oils. It’s a passion which comes easily to me, most likely because of all the years spent expressing myself solely in that medium. It never occurred to me to adulterate my passion by switching to a different medium, although I have experimented with acrylics, watercolors and other water-based mediums.
“I believe all things happen when it supposed to happen.”
I’ve developed new approaches and attitude expressing my creative self. I’m allowing myself access to a broader spectrum of art-forms and being more flexible in terms of how I create and the mediums I use: video production and editing, decorative crafts, jewelry making, and most recently, painting on glass as well as canvas. Creating art on glass presents a unique set of challenges for me, several of which I’m still working through.
Healthy Mind and Body equals Healthy Art, and in my experience, that statement holds true.
Essential oils have been around a very long time and they are making a significant positive difference in my life. As I continue to travel this incredible road we call life, I am discovering all sort of tasty morsels along the way. One of which is Young Living Essential Oils (YLEO). Not just another essential oils, but some of the best 100% natural essential oils on the planet, and you can quote me on that.
What exactly are essential oils?
They are the plant in ‘liquid’ form, or the life-blood of plants, shrubs, flowers, roots, trees, bushes, herbs, etc., which is extracted through a careful distillation process. These oils are very concentrated, which means a little goes a long way. They are beneficial for every part of your body.
Young Living Grand Opening Essential Oils
I use YLEO everyday. They have many benefits that can help improve your life. They help strengthen your immune system, cleanse the air in your surroundings, use as chemical-free deodorant, pain-killer, household cleaner, toothpaste, the list goes on.
Healthy Mind and Body equals Healthy Art
One of my favourite features about YLEO, is that since I have started using them, I have noticed wonderful improvement in my levels of creativity. Often, when I am feeling fatigue, it becomes very difficult to focus and concentrate on what I am doing. Whether I am writing or painting, sewing, cooking or whatever. Inhaling YL peppermint essential oil directly or using a diffuser, or dabbing a drop or two on my temples always revitalize me up and puts the ‘pepp’ (ermint) back in my creative stride.
Wonders never cease to amaze me as I watch individuals who believe they have no creative skills come to life after witnessing for themselves their hidden abilities…such payment for me.
Emphasis was placed on the use of lights and shadows to create different shapes, angles and depth in the painting.
Light, shadows, and midtones?
This time around, students were able to explore how to paint rocks using a limited, monochromatic palette. Much of the emphasis was placed on the use of lights and shadows to create different shapes, angles and depth in the painting and to form the ‘illusion’ of rocks.
